“Have no expectations,” said Ebba Andersson before the race. Once in place, she went home with the victory half a minute before Emma Ribom: “I am surprised. I did not think I would get such a good race,” says Andersson.

The Smart Energy Cup on rollerskis has started, and it became a challenge with four laps on Lugnet’s rollerski track, where the beginning of each loop was physically challenging.

Ebba Andersson’s tactic was to keep four laps at a steady pace:

“It got difficult a little earlier than I had imagined. But I am glad that I was able to complete the race better than I expected,” says Ebba Andersson, who lowered her chances at the press conference the day before the race.

“I have no expectations of myself, and I do not think you should either,” she said.

But once in place, she was the strongest of all:

“I’m surprised, and I did not think I would get a good race as I got. It was tough out there, but I’m glad I was able to fight the way I did. Then you are not used to this type of load at this time of the year,” says Andersson.

Does this victory mean anything in the summer training?

“With as little hard training as I have lately, it feels very good that I can push myself the way did,” says Andersson, who was half a minute in front of club teammate Emma Ribom. The third was the home skier Moa Olsson.
