The Czech Ski & Snowboard Association has named the cross-country skiers for their National Cross-Country Ski Teams for Season 2023/2024.

The Czech Ski & Snowboard Association has named the cross-country skiers for their National Cross-Country Ski Teams for Season 2023/2024.

According to a press release from the Czech Ski & Snowboard Association, the 13 cross-country skiers selected will be part of the A-Team and B-Team for the upcoming season.

The head coach remains Jan Franc, who will lead the athletes together with Vasil Husák and Dušan Augustíňák. The coaches nominated four names for the men’s main team: Michal Novák, Ondřej Černý, Luděk Šeller, and Adam Fellner will show up in the World Cup. There will be five women in the A-Team: Tereza Beranová, Kateřina Razýmová, Kateřina Janatová, Barbora Antošová, and Adéla Nováková.

Young skiers form the Czech B-Team. Jan Franc explains:

“For us, this team is very important because if we want to go to team races, we need to complete the A-Team, especially on the men’s side. B-Team is under the leadership of Aleš Lejsek, and this year we will try to have the teams meet at some camps. Some of the B-Team may even be invited to camps with the A-Team to connect the teams. I am in constant communication with Aleš Lejsek, and we are trying to follow a unified direction and system of training for both the camps and outside them.”

The official program for the Czech cross-country ski team for the following season is yet to be confirmed. Traditionally, however, it should start at the end of November in Ruka, Finland.
