Cologna and Bulle winners of ‘Rampa con i Campioni’
‘Rampa con i Campioni,’ which in free translation means ‘Climb with the Champions,’ is a side event to the famous Tour de Ski final stage, the thrilling Final Climb up to Alpe Cermis.
The event took place on Sunday before the official end of Tour de Ski, starting at Lago di Tesero cross-country ski stadium and finishing in Alpe Cermis, Cavalese, Italy. The winners were Dario Cologna (SUI) and Emilie Bulle (FRA).
While professional traditional cross-country skiers competed at the 10 kilometers mass start skate race, recreational skiers had the chance to compete and test themselves against former professional skiers at the demanding Final Climb, over 10 kilometers.
This year’s edition was won by Dario Cologna, from Switzerland, who finished the course in 31:29.9.
In a statement to Newspower.it, Cologna said, “It was really fun, even better than I expected. It was my first race in a long time, but I felt good. The Rampa is demanding, but it’s fun to race here on this occasion.”
Paolo Fanton, from Italy – Team Futura, finished in 2nd place, 15.8 seconds back, with a time of 31:45.7. Toni Escher, from Germany – Terrex XCS Team, finished 3rd, 24.4 seconds behind the winner.
