Coaching changes in the Czech cross-country ski team
The Czech cross-country ski team will undergo coaching changes for the upcoming season.
After seven years as head coach of the women’s team, Jan Franc is leaving for the Slovak national team. Franc will coach the young Slovak team together with Dušan Kožíšek, a former Czech cross-country skier and two-time bronze medalist. Their base will be Štrbské Pleso in the High Tatras.
The new head coach of the Czech national team will be Vasil Husák, who has already been coaching the men’s team for several years, including Michal Novák. The cross-country skiing section is currently seeking a suitable candidate for the assistant coach position. Details about the recruitment process can be found HERE.
According to Bezky.net, these staffing changes will not affect Michal Novák, other top athletes, or Czech number one Kateřina Janatová, who spends most of the year training in Norway. Barbora Antošová and Barbora Havlíčková will, therefore, join the men’s training group.
