The Swedish cross-country ski star Charlotte Kalla, who retired after this winter, becomes part of a popular TV show in her home country.

This three-time Olympic and the World Championship gold medalist will be joining the cast of Mästarnas Mästare 2023, which is based on a Belgium TV format called Eeuwige roem.

The TV program has several former sports stars competing against each other in various tasks. It has been shown on Severiges Television, the National Television of Sweden, since 2009. The format has also been adapted in several other countries including Norway, Denmark, Finland, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.

Kalla will battle against Anja Pärson, an Olympic gold medalist and seven-time gold medalist at the World Championships, Nils van der Poel, an Olympic and World Champion and the world record holder in speed skating, Jonna Adlerteg, an Olympic gymnast, and some other Swedish sport heroes.

– It think this opportunity will be really cool. I’m looking forward to learning a bit more about myself and the other athletes on the show. I’m entering a completely new arena , Kalla tells svt.se.
