Charlotte Kalla joins SVT as Olympic expert
Charlotte Kalla is set to return to television this winter, stepping into the role of expert commentator for SVT during the 2026 Olympic Games in Milano-Cortina, Italy.
The Swedish traditional cross-country skiing legend, who retired in 2022 after one of the most successful careers in cross-country skiing history, will join the Olympic studio team alongside André Pops, Yvette Hermundstad, and Karin Frick. It will be her first time working as an expert since ending her career.
“Getting to follow this in SVT’s Olympic studio will be really fun. I have high hopes for the Swedish skiers even though the season hasn’t started yet. Based on their results at recent championships, I think we can hope for success,” Kalla told SVT Sport.

Nine Olympic medals
Charlotte Kalla was highly successful herself during the Olympic Games in which she participated. In total, she won nine Olympic medals, three of them gold. In addition to the ski legend, SVT has also brought in Kim Martin Hasson as an expert in hockey.
“We are, of course, delighted that these two legends are confirmed for us. They bring incredible experience and can provide interesting and exciting perspectives on two of the sports we are most focused on during the Olympics,” said Marcus Törngren, Head of Events at SVT Sport.
In Sweden, the Olympic Games in Milano-Cortina will be broadcast on TV4 and SVT.
