Caprini Brings Nordic Racing Experience To New Role As FIS Cross-Country Assistant Race Director
Frenchman Simon Caprini has been appointed as the International Ski and Snowboard Federation’s (FIS) Cross-Country Assistant Race Director, according to a statement released by the entity. Caprini, who is 40 years old, will take up the role this summer.

Caprini brings over a decade of experience in the Nordic racing industry, having served as the Nordic Racing Manager for Rossignol for the past 12 years. During this time, he has developed a strong network within the industry and worked closely with teams and athletes.
Caprini expressed his excitement for the new role in a statement to FIS, saying:
“After so many great years with the Rossignol race family, it was time to move on. The position of Assistant Race Director allows me to use my knowledge to develop Cross-Country skiing with the FIS team. I am also glad that I will be able to continue working in the same environment with all friends I met along the way.”
FIS Cross-Country Race Director Michal Lamplot also expressed his confidence in Caprini’s abilities, stating:
“For us, Simon is a great fit for the role. He has not only extensive knowledge about the sport from different perspectives but also a large network with athletes, coaches, and team staff. Simon will be a great help for us to continue developing Cross-Country Skiing.”

From May 3 to 5, FIS will hold its annual technical committee meetings in Cavtat-Dubrovnik, Croatia. The Spring conference has previously been staged in the area in 2009, 2013, and 2019. During the three meeting days, the technical committees will discuss important topics about the previous and upcoming season.
