Brilliant Gina Del Rio wins the Junior World Championships sprint in Planica

Gina Del Rio secured first place in the junior women’s sprint race in freestyle technique for Andorra at the Junior cross-country skiing World Championships. Results from the sprint race.

Gina Del Rio, from Andorra, took first place at the Planica junior sprint race in freestyle technique with a total time of 2:40.84. The cross-country skier from Andorra was followed by Samantha Smith, from the USA, 1.07 seconds back.

Milla Grosberghaugen Andreassen, from Norway, completed the podium in third place, 2.78 seconds behind the winner. 

Helene Ekrheim, from Norway, and Iris De Martin Pinter, from Italy, rounded out the top 5 by finishing 4th and 5th, respectively.
