Bjørgen’s Training Book Will Be Released This Autumn

Marit Bjørgen has written a book about her very successful career. Now a book will be written about Bjørgen’s training.

In 2016, Marit Bjørgen and her former national team colleague Guro Strøm Solli began a collaboration where Strøm Sollie wanted to write a doctorate dissertation about Bjørgen’s training.

The book is about the training that brought Bjørgen to the highest level and an impressive 41 medals at the Olympics and World Championships, including 26 gold medals.

The book will be released this autumn:

“It’s not about copying me but learning from what I did, but also from my mistakes. It is not about people being scared; instead, it should be about training joy and knowledge. This is my way of sharing my experiences,” says Bjørgen to VG

One of the parts that Bjørgen and Strøm Solli highlight in the book is the importance of having training goals, even if you are not an athlete at the highest level. As part of this, Bjørgen now launched her upcoming goal, to run the New York Marathon on November 6:

“The goal is three hours,” says Bjørgen to VG.
