There is plenty of excitement ahead of the final stage of the Tour of Slovakia. For the first time in the race’s history, the riders will finish with the brutal climb to Kráľová hoľa, at an altitude of 1,934 meters.

This is where everything will be decided in the Tour of Slovakia general classification.

The final 12.8 kilometers have an average gradient of 8.7%. However, the road also climbs for several kilometers before the final section.

What makes this particularly interesting is that nobody really knows how the riders will cope with the climb, as it has never been used in the race before. That adds extra suspense to the finale.

Before that, the riders will also tackle the first-category climb of Lom nad Rimavicou. It is 14 kilometres long, but has a considerably lower gradient. The summit comes after just over 70 kilometres of the 147.4-kilometre stage.

Lennert Van Eetvelt impressed on the hilly third stage, taking over the leader’s jersey. The Lotto-Intermarché rider will be among the favorites to win the race overall, but he was unable to drop 20-year-old Brazilian Henrique Ribeiro Bravo of Soudal Quick-Step.

It looks set to be a battle between these two, but keep an eye on riders such as Benjamin Thomas and Jamie Meehan of Cofidis, or Maxime Decomble of Groupama-FDJ. There could also be surprises from the Continental teams.

• 46.8km: Category 3 climb, Blato (651 m). 3–2–1 KoM points.
• 70.1km: Category 1 climb, Lom nad Rimavicou. 12–8–6–4–2–1 KoM points.
• 134.8km: Category 3 climb, Šumiac. 3–2–1 KoM points.
• 147.4km: HC climb, Kráľová hoľa. 20–15–10–6–4–2 KoM points.
• 147.4km: Finish at Kráľová hoľa (14:01–14:25). 10–9–8–7–6–5–4–3–2–1 points for the green jersey and 10–6–4 bonus seconds.
