The MTB Eliminator World Cup season is already underway. This is where the world’s top cyclists compete in city mountain biking.

The first round has already taken place, and seven races remain this season. The next round will be held on Sunday, June 1, in Leuven – a well-established race venue located in the heart of Belgium.

Participants can look forward to fast-paced urban cycling with spectacular obstacles and a long, demanding climb toward the finish line – a real test of strength that requires both technical skill and endurance. The event serves as the final important test ahead of next month’s World Championships in Sakarya, Turkey.

More information about the race in Leuven can be found here.

You’ll be able to follow the race and the rest of the season live on SC Play.

The SC Play streaming service is included with a Langd.se membership. There, you can also follow the entire Ski Classics Pro Tour and selected Ski Classics Challengers events.

Is MTB Eliminator a new sport for you? Here’s everything you need to know.

XCE (cross-country eliminator) is a mountain biking race format where four riders compete against each other on a short circuit. In each heat, the two fastest riders advance to the next round, while the two slower riders are eliminated. The course resembles a cross-country (XC) track and winds up and down with natural and/or artificial obstacles.

The MTB Eliminator format was introduced in 2010 in Germany and was tested in two UCI events in 2011 (Pickering/GBR and Nove Mesto na Morave/CZE). It was officially integrated into the World Cup in 2012 with three events in Houffalize/BEL, Nove Mesto na Morave/CZE, and La Bresse/FRA.
