The 22-year-old was well supported by his team. On the final stretch, no one could challenge him this time either, although the victory was not as commanding as in the first stage. Italy’s Thomas Capra from Bahrain Victorious Development Team was the closest competitor after 186.8 kilometers from Levoca to Liptovsky Mikulas.

The stage took place in partly rainy conditions and partly on dry roads. A breakaway of six riders was reduced to three after half of them crashed early in the stage. Swedish rider Carl Kagevi from Lucky Sport was in the break for the second consecutive day.
He won two of the mountain sprints and took over the climber’s jersey, where he now has a solid lead and a good chance to retain it.

Norwegian 22-year-old Sander Granberg from Team Drali-Repsol once again made a strong sprint. He couldn’t follow up his podium finish from the previous day, but a 9th place is certainly respectable in this competition.
