With one race still to go in the 2021/2022 Visma Ski Classics, Andreas Nygaard of Norway has already secured the overall victory and takes home the yellow bib for the third time. The 31-year-old Ragde Charge racer now has a 391-point lead to Sweden’s Emil Persson of Lager 157 Ski Team.

Nygaard will become the first male to win the overall Champion three times in the 12-year history of the Ski Classics long-distance series. Previously, Anders Aukland, Petter Eliassen and Tord Asle Gjerdalen each have won the overall title twice.

Among the women, Sweden’s Britta Johansson Norgren of Lager 157 Ski Team is also chasing her sixth overall title in the long-distance race series.

With the eighth place in Reistadløpet on Saturday, Norgren increased her lead by five points to Ida Dahl, who finished ninth. Norgren now has a 97-point lead in the overall standing. For all practical purposes that means Norgren just needs to complete the race in Finland next weekend in order to clinch the yellow bib.

Several of the sub-competitions were also determined after Reistadløpet on Saturday.

Astrid Øyre Slind and Tord Asle Gjerdalen, both of Norway, have secured the climbing bibs for the Season XII.

The sprint bib once again belongs to Stian Berg after bagging 30 sprint points on Saturday. Berg’s only rival for the green bib, Emil Persson, got none.

In the Youth competition, Team Ramudden’s Max Novak and Ida Dahl were already clear winners before yesterday’s race.

Finally, Team Ramudden will win the overall team competition as long as the team fields at least a few racers in the final race of the season. They currently have a 180-point lead to Lager 157 Ski Team.

Ylläs-Levi in Finland is the final event in the 2021/2022 Visma Ski Classics season. The 70-kilometer event is scheduled for Saturday, April 9.
