The Ski Classics Challengers event Wadköpingsloppet is taking place this Sunday, February 2, 2025, in Örebro, Sweden.

Wadköpingsloppet, a 40km long-distance skiing event, part of the Ski Classics Challengers series, has long-lasting traditions but has, over the past years, developed into a modern classic race. 

A perfect event for those who want to prepare for Vasaloppet and gain seeding. The arena is located in Ånnaboda, 15km outside Örebro, easily accessed from most places in mid-Sweden. 

The ‘original’ track runs in a scenic undulating forest landscape, but there are also several options to alter the track if needed to adapt to weather conditions, which is the case for the 2025 edition: 

“The Wadköpingsloppet 2025 will be held over 20×2km on a thick and wide artificial snowbed. The course will have at least 2 classic tracks, but 3-4 classic tracks on several parts of the course,” says the Local Organizing Committee on their official website.

Apart from being part of the Ski Classics Challengers series, Wadköpingslopet 40km is an official seeding race for Vasaloppet and Tjejvasan.

As the 40km race is a Ski Classics Challengers event, Pro Team registered athletes can collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective genders.
