Torleif Syrstad: Norwegian skier Torleif Syrstad from Team Engcon is known for his exceptional performances in long-distance events. He made headlines last year by winning the prestigious Vasaloppet, showcasing his strength and determination on one of the toughest stages in long-distance skiing. Syrstad’s victory solidified his position among the top skiers in the Ski Classics series. He remains a key contender in major competitions, continuing to demonstrate skill and resilience.

Andreas Nygaard: Few skiers know Vasaloppet better than Andreas Nygaard. The Norwegian skier, a two-time winner of this race, is always a podium contender. Despite suffering an elbow injury, Nygaard has proven his ability to fight for victories. This season, he reached a new challenge by winning Marcialonga.

Max Novak: Representing Team Aker Dæhlie, Novak has gained recognition for his impressive performances in major events, most recently winning the Grönklitt Criterium. His consistent results in other challenging Ski Classics races have made him a key figure in long-distance skiing, known for his competitive spirit and technical skill.

Ole Jørgen Bruvoll: Team Engcon skier Ole Jørgen Bruvoll, the current number one in the Ski Classics overall competition, recently won the prestigious Jizerská50, solidifying his top position in the rankings. Known for his endurance and technique, Bruvoll continues to dominate the long-distance skiing scene.

Contenders for Vasaloppet 2025 – Women

As the women’s Vasaloppet 2025 draws near, the trails of Sweden are set to witness an assembly of athletes like no other — reigning queen of the track and strong challengers — all sharpening their skis for a tight competition. Let’s unveil the stars poised to etch their saga into the icy expanse of this illustrious day. 

Anikken Gjerde Alnæs – Team Engcon member and number 1 for both sprint and overall competition, Anikken confessed previously that she is surprised with her recovery. This Season is starting pretty well for her despite her accident last year. She has already won 3 races: Jizerská50, 3 Zinnen Ski-Marathon, and Bad Gastein ITT, and she is always in the top 3 positions in almost all skiing races. We hope to see her at the podium once more this weekend at Vasaloppet.

Emilie Fleten – One of the stars of Team Ramudden, the reigning champion, Emilie, is having a good ski season. After winning last year’s Vasaloppet, she is in great shape. Proving that is the fact she has already won 5 Ski Classics events this season. So, we can only expect her to be in top positions at Vasaloppet this weekend.  

Silje Øyre Slind: Representing Team Aker Daehlie from Norway, Silje is a steady and consistent skier. She is making an impressive ski season. Silje is still rising in the long-distance ski world, and her best position so far at Vasaloppet was 2nd place. Let’s see how well she does this year.

Jenny Larsson: Jenny Larsson from Lager 157 Ski Team is a skilled Swedish skier known for strong performances in the Ski Classics series. With consistent results and impressive technique, she has become a prominent figure in long-distance skiing. She is currently in third place overall and has had a great ski Season so far.

Looking Ahead 

As these athletes and many others prepare for the race, they will test their strategies, form, and mental strength. Each has their eyes on the prize, but in the end, only one can claim the glory of crossing the finish line first in Mora.
