A new weekend is approaching, and König Ludwig Lauf, a Ski Classics Challengers event, takes place this Sunday in Oberammergau, Germany.

On Sunday, February 5, it’s time for the traditional König Ludwig Lauf in Germany. The 50km long-distance skiing race in classic technique is part of the Ski Classics Challengers circuit and one of Germany’s largest cross-country skiing races.

König Ludwig Lauf’s history goes back to 1968, and in 2023 the event will again occur in the Valley of King Ludwig II.

Every year, thousands of skiers worldwide experience the famous and beautiful Ammergauer Alps region. The Ski Classics Challengers 50km course in classic technique immerses the participants in an unforgettable winter experience, passing the world-famous abbey Ettal through the Graswangtal, the palace park of Linderhof, to the finish at the village in Oberammergau.

Experience unique cultural highlights at one of Europe’s most beautiful high valleys.

In addition to the 50km race that is part of the Ski Classics Challengers circuit, participants can also choose between 10km and 21km races and be part of this unique experience in the Bavarian Alps.
