Wsportsmedia announces the appointment of Thomas Granlund as the company’s new CVO, Chief Events Officer, effective December 1, 2023.

This strategic move marks a significant step forward in the company’s continued dedication to excellence in sports business. Thomas Granlund brings winter sports event experiences second to none, and he is well known in the world of long-distance skiing events, having been part of Ski Classics since Season II.

“I look forward to being part of and contributing to the continued development within the company with my experiences and ideas regarding events and sports,” said Thomas Granlund, newly appointed CVO of Wsportsmedia.

Granlund’s impressive track record includes serving as a Technical Delegate (TD) at World Cups and Tour de Ski, as well as Chief of Competition (COC) for renowned events like Malmstråket and the Swedish Championships. His contributions to the Swedish Ski Association as a member of the rules committee and his involvement in TD education underscore his deep commitment to the sport.

David Nilsson, CEO of Wsportsmedia, expressed his enthusiasm for Thomas Granlund’s appointment, stating:

“Thomas is an indispensable person within the ski event community. He has played a key role in the development of Ski Classics, the creation of conformity between the events for media and the Pro Team athletes, as well as in developing the rules we have today, and without him, Ski Classics would not be where it is today. I am excited to welcome Thomas as our new CVO, a role that will be instrumental in expanding our event business.”
