GANGHOFERLAUF CLASSIC 2025

The Ski Classics Challengers event, Ganghoferlauf Classic, took place last Saturday with a 43km long-distance skiing race in classic technique in Leutasch, Austria. Check out the results.

After a day full of action, one of the Ski Classics Challengers events in Austria, Ganghoferlauf Classic, saw a fierce battle for all the podium places. Ultimately, Kateřina Smutná and Markus Köcheler, xc-ski.de A|N Skimarathon Team, won their respective races with solid performances.

Ganghoferlauf Classic – 43km Women’s Race 

In the women’s competition, the winner was Kateřina Smutná, completing the event in a total time of 1:59:06.3.

Alexandra Danner, Terrex XC Skiteam, finished in second place, 1:58.0 back, followed by Jessica Löschke, TSC Leuna, 3:59:8 behind the winner, and completing the podium in third place.

  1. Kateřina Smutná, 1:59.06.3
  2. Alexandra Danner, Terrex XC Skiteam, +1:58.0
  3. Jessica Löschke, TSC Leuna, +3:59.8

Ganghoferlauf Classic – 43km Men’s Race

In the men’s event, the winner, Markus Köcheler, xc-ski.de A|N Skimarathon Team, completed the race at a time of 1:48:33.6.

Jonathan Göppert, xc-ski.de A|N Skimarathon Team, finished in second place, 15.2 seconds behind, followed by Johannes Kuchl, Skadi Loppet Team, completing the podium in third position and 23.7 seconds back.

  1. Markus Köcheler, xc-ski.de A|N Skimarathon Team, 1:48:33.6
  2. Jonathan Göppert, xc-ski.de A|N Skimarathon Team, +15.2
  3. Johannes Kuchl, Skadi Loppet Team, +23.7

In the women’s competition, the winner was Sophie Lechner, Terrex XC Ski Team, completing the event in a total time of 1:41:46.7.

Alexandra Danner, Terrex XC Ski Team, finished in second place, 1:14.3 back, followed by Sigrid Mutscheller, WSV Isny/Ruhepuls40, 3:45:3 behind the winner, and completing the podium in third place.

  1. Sophie Lechner, Terrex XC Ski Team, 1:41.46.7
  2. Alexandra Danner, Terrex XC Ski Team, +1:14.3
  3. Sigrid Mutscheller, WSV Isny/Ruhepuls40, +3:45.3

Ganghoferlauf Skating – 41km Men’s Race

In the men’s event, the winner, Philipp Lipowitz, Ski-Club Seefeld, completed the race at a time of 1:33:55.7.

Jakob Milz, Terrex XC Ski Team, finished in second place, 2.0 seconds behind, followed by Reid Goble, BSF Pro Team, completing the podium in third position and 3.0 seconds back.

  1. Philipp Lipowitz, Ski-Club Seefeld, 1:33:55.7
  2. Jakob Milz, Terrex XC Ski Team, +2.0
  3. Reid Goble, BSF Pro Team, +3.0

As the Ganghoferlauf Classic and Skating are Ski Classics Challengers events, Pro Team registered athletes could collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective genders.
