This Swedish Pro Team has six athletes, and one of them comes from Norway. The team director is Jerry Ahrlin, a former long-distance skier with great merits, such as three Marcialonga victories and 2nd at Vasaloppet.

The biggest name on the team is, without a doubt, Ida Dahl, who transferred from Team Ramudden to this squad. Ida finished second in the Champion competition last winter and is one of the strongest favorites in the upcoming season. She also won the Youth competition, but she is no longer eligible for that category. She got seven podium places last season and was the fastest skier in four Pro Tour races.

Her teammate Linn Sömskar is also a skilled long-distance skier whose potential has not yet fully materialized. In the Champion competition, 13 women were before her, but she wants to climb higher this season. She represented Team Eksjöhus last winter, and her best results came from the season premiere in Orsa, the Individual Prologue, where she finished 6th, Prato Piazza Mountain Challenge, 7th, and Tartu Maraton, 8th.

Frida Hallquist is the third female skier on the team, and she completed three Pro Tour stages last winter. Vasaloppet’s 18th place was her best result.

Of the three male skiers, Eddie Edström is probably the most known to the Ski Classics audience. Vasaloppet’s 36th place was his worst position on the Pro Tour, and his best came from Tartu Maraton, where he was pretty close to the podium by finishing 7th. He is certainly aiming to be a podium contender come the new season.

Anton Elvseth has not yet competed in Ski Classics, except Vasaloppet in 2021. Still, he performed well at the Swedish National Championships, taking the following positions: 11th in the 50 km classic, 12th in the 30 km skating, and 16th in the 15 km classic. He is 24 years old, and if he focuses on long-distance skiing, he can become one of the top athletes in the game.

Torgeir Sulen Hovland is also a strong skier who could even be in the top 10 if he took a step forward. His best result was 12th at Jizerská50, but he also finished Birkebeinerrennet, Vasaloppet, and Ylläs-Levi with top-20 results.

In terms of their size, this Pro Team is not the biggest, but there is strength and talent that can take this merry gang quite far when the new season commences. Ida will certainly be the team’s brightest star, but Linn, Eddie, and Torgeir have a great chance to become new stars of the sport. For Frida, it will take some time before she can reach the top, and Anton may be a bit too inexperienced to shine next winter. But Ski Classics is always full of wonderful surprises, and anything can happen.
