Team Eksjöhus for Season XVI

Team Eksjöhus
Last season, Team Eksjöhus won the Ski Classics Pro Team competition by a significant margin. Now, the team lineup for Season XVI is ready, and the goal is again very high.

Team Eksjöhus was founded for the 2021/2022 season but has quickly risen to the position of Ski Classics’ most successful team – at least in terms of the Pro Team Competition during last season, where the Pro Team was superior.

Next week, the Swedish Pro Team, led by Pro Team Director Espen Träldal and coach Marthe Kristoffersen, will be in Eksjö, Sweden, to start training together for the Ski Classics Pro Tour Season XVI, which begins in Bad Gastein on December 14, 2024.

It has been confirmed that the Junior World champion in sprint and World Cup-qualified Högbo skier Louise Lindström will entirely focus on long-distance races starting next winter.

In addition, Jeremy Royer has signed with Team Eksjöhus. The French Pro Team athlete is transferring from the French Pro Team Team Nordic Expérience.

Otherwise, there is ‘no news’ regarding Pro Team athletes, meaning that the strong lineup that the team assembled is intact.

However, there is a question mark on the women’s side, as Magni Smedås has ambitions to break into the Norwegian World Championships squad.

Each team is only allowed to register ten skiers (over 23 years old), and Team Eksjöhus is currently eleven:

“Frida Erkers had an injury-riddled season last year; now, she will be present at camps and in the preparations for the coming season. Then it depends on what happens with Magni’s World Cup plans,” says Träldal to Langd.se.

On the men’s side, it will be the same lineup as last season, but this time with the addition of Jeremy Royer.

“One of our goals is to win on the men’s side as well. We have many skiers who can win, and it would not have been completely wrong to see Axel Jutterström become the first men’s skier from Mora in many years to win Vasaloppet,” says Träldal.

The last Mora winner on the men’s side at Vasaloppet was Henrik Eriksson in 2001.

Axel Jutterström was third in Vasaloppet 2022 and had a string of good placings in the past season of Ski Classics.

More from Team Eksjöhus training camp will be published here on ProXCskiing.com next week.
