Sweden Dominates Visma Ski Classics Weekend

With four wins by Swedish Pro Team long-distance skiers, these are the bib-holders in various overall competitions after back-to-back events in Italy.

With four wins by Swedish Pro Team long-distance skiers, these are the bib-holders in various overall competitions after back-to-back events in Italy.

On Saturday, the race weekend started in Sexten, Italy, with the Pustertaler Ski Marathon. Britta Johansson Norgren, Lager 157 Ski Team and Max Novak, Team Ramudden, won the event. 

On Sunday, Ida Dahl and Johannes Eklöf, Team Ramudden, won the Prato Piazza Mountain Challenge that started at Niederdorf and finished at almost 2000 meters above sea level.

When we look at the Visma Ski Classics general classification after this weekend, the yellow Champion Bib Competition belongs to Britta Johansson Norgren, Lager 157 Ski Team, and Max Novak Team Ramudden.

Johansson Norgren also carries the green bib of the women’s Sprint Competition. Stian Berg, Team Kaffebryggeriet, wears the green bib in the men’s Sprint Competition.

The pink bibs in the Youth Competition are resting on the shoulders of Ida Dahl and Max Novak, both from Team Ramudden. 

Astrid Øyre Slind, Team Koteng Eidissen, and Johannes Eklöf, Team Ramudden, are carrying the Climb bib in the Climbing Competition.

Team Ramudden leads the Pro Team Competition.  

Lina Korsgren, Team Ramudden, is leading the SC Ranking, with 25,418,240 points. In the second place, another Swedish Pro Tour skier, Emil Persson, Lager 157 Ski Team, followed by Tord Asle Gjerdalen, Team XPND Fuel. 

Next up in the Visma Ski Classics is La Venosta Time Trial. The 10-kilometer classic race takes place in Italy on January 15, 2022.
