Ski-Willy Marathon Team Austria Confirmed For Ring Frei
Earlier today, the Ski Classics Challengers event Ring Frei confirmed Ski-Willy Marathon Team Austria for this year’s edition.
Ring Frei, a long-distance rollerski race in Salzburg, Austria, and part of the Ski Classics Challengers series, announced today that the Ski-Willy Marathon Team Austria had confirmed participation at the 42km freestyle rollerski race on August 28, 2022.
Ring Frei post:
“Also, the Ski-Willy Marathon Team Austria will be there at Salzburgring on August 28.
The 42km roller ski competition that also is part of the Ski Classics Challengers is for the athletes of the Austrian Pro Team a welcoming test to compare themselves with top international athletes.
But not only those top athletes are welcome at our event. Ring Frei (in English Open Ring) is a day of sports for everyone who wants to actively move and also want to try out something new. And that at a location to which you usually can’t get that easily. And definitely not to do sports there yourself.
Thank you to those responsible for making this possible.”
Where once stars like Michael Schumacher, Keke Rosberg, Jochen Rindt, Niki Lauda, Gerhard Berger, Helmut Marko, and many others took their first rounds in race cars and motorcycles, a Ski Classics Challengers event on rollerskis with 42km free technique takes place at the Salzburgring.
For those who think that 42km is too much, a 21km rollerski race and inline skating competitions can be chosen. The organizers promise a fun event program offered to participants and spectators in the narrow alpine valley close to the city of Salzburg.
Registrations are open and can be made here.
As Ring Frei is a Ski Classics Challengers event, Pro Team registered athletes could collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective gender.
