Reistadløpet, the 12th event of the Ski Classics World Championship Season XVII, took place today in Norway.

With the event back to the original 35km course, where both recreational and elite skiers cover the same distance and share the same challenge, Astrid Øyre Slind, Team Aker Dæhlie, and Johan Hoel, Team Ragde Charge, delivered dominant performances.

With just one event remaining in the Ski Classics World Championship Season XVII, the battle for several bib competitions remains intense, setting the stage for an electrifying finale at the Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja tomorrow.

Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon, mathematically sealed the World Champion bib competition win, while Amund Riege, Team Aker Dæhlie, leads the men’s overall, with Ole Jørgen Bruvoll, Team Engcon, still in contention.

The Green Sprint bib has already been mathematically secured by Alnæs, while Gabriel Strid is in a tight fight with Vebjørn Moen, with just one point separating them.

Silje Øyre Slind and Kasper Stadaas control the Climb Bib standings ahead of the final event, with the fight still open. Meanwhile, the Pink Youth bib remains with Louise Lindström and Amund Riege, and Team Engcon leads the Pro Team competition.

With such small margins across some bib competitions, the excitement heading into the final event is at an all-time high.

At Reistadløpet today, considered one of the most demanding events in the Ski Classics World Championship, the action started early, and the race was thrilling among both women and men. 

REISTADLØPET – WOMEN

The women’s race started at 10:00 CET, and an early leading group of 14 skiers was formed.

At Storlømyra, the Premium Sprint checkpoint of the day at 5.1km, Julie Kvale Støstad, Team Ramudden, crossed first, followed by Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon, 0.2 seconds back, and Hanna Lodin, Team Engcon, 0.4 seconds behind, with seven skiers within 3.9 seconds.

The decisive move came on the long climb, where Astrid Øyre Slind, Team Aker Dæhlie, showed her diagonal striding strength and created a significant gap, splitting the field. Emilie Fleten was the closest chaser, while Gjerde Alnæs and Lodin followed further behind.

At the Orta Iconic Climb, 13km into the race, Øyre Slind crossed first and took maximum points, with Fleten and Gjerde Alnæs following behind.

Øyre Slind maintained a strong pace over the remaining part of the course, and no one was able to close the gap in the final part of the race.

In the end, Astrid Øyre Slind, Team Aker Dæhlie, secured a convincing victory in Reistadløpet with a powerful performance, finishing in 1:48:14.0.

Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden, took second place, 1:11.5 behind, while Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon, completed the podium in third place, 1:28.8 behind the winner.

REISTADLØPET – MEN

The men’s race started at 11:00 CET, with early action from the start as Gabriel Strid, Vebjørn Moen, and Ask Jørgensen pushed the pace ahead of the Premium Sprint checkpoint.

At Storlømyra, 5.1km into the race, Vebjørn Moen, Team Eksjöhus, took maximum sprint points, followed by Gabriel Strid, Team GS8, and Alvar Myhlback, Lager 157 Ski Team.

Soon after, the climb began, and Team Engcon moved to the front, with Torleif Syrstad setting a strong pace that stretched the field and formed a breakaway group.

At the Orta Iconic Climb, 13.0km into the race, Axel Jutterström, Team Eksjöhus, crossed first, just ahead of Johan Hoel, Team Ragde Charge, with Torleif Syrstad in third. A select group of skiers remained within reach as the race moved into its decisive phase.

In the second half of the race, Jutterström increased the pace and created a small gap, holding the chasers just seconds behind for several kilometers.

In the final kilometers, the gap gradually closed. With around 3km to go, Jutterström was caught, and a group of four skiers formed heading into the finish.

Ultimately, the race was decided in a sprint finish, with Johan Hoel, Team Ragde Charge, taking the win and securing his first Ski Classics Pro Tour victory of the season.

Johan Tjelle, Team Engcon, finished second, 0.2 seconds behind, while Axel Jutterström, Team Eksjöhus, completed the podium in third, 1.1 seconds back.

SKI CLASSICS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP COMPETITIONS – CURRENT STANDINGS

After Reistadløpet, Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon, and Amund Riege, Team Aker Dæhlie, lead the World Champion bib competition.

Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon, and Gabriel Strid, Team GS8, hold the Green Sprint bib.

Silje Øyre Slind, Team Aker Dæhlie, and Kasper Stadaas, Team Aker Dæhlie, carry the bib for the Climb Competition. The Pink Youth Bib belongs to Louise Lindström, Team Eksjöhus, and Amund Riege, Team Aker Dæhlie.

Team Engcon is the highest-ranked Pro Team after Reistadløpet Season XVII.

SKIER OF THE DAY BY DEVOLD

In addition to the race results, the Skier of the Day awards were presented after Reistadløpet. Noëlie Maurin, Team BSV IBEX, and Magnus Vesterheim, Team Ramudden, were voted Skier of the Day by fans via the Ski Classics App, in recognition of their strong performances and impact on the race.
