Sunday’s Marcialonga is the 90th Visma Ski Classics event since the start of the Pro tour Season I with Jizerská 50, back in 2011.

Season I started with Jizerská 50 and winners were Anders Aukland, Team Xtra Personell and Sandra Hansson, Team United Bakeries. The first season included six events; besides Jizerska: Marcialonga, König Ludvig Lauf, Vasaloppet, Birkebeinerrennet and Norefjellrennet.
The first season’s Champion winners were Stanislav Řezáč, Patria Direct Team and Seraina Boner, Engadin Skimarathon Team.

The season with most events was Season VII 2016-2017, with 13 events. When it’s time for Marcialonga on Sunday, it will be the 90th Visma Ski Classics event. With six events left during Season XI, the Pro tour will reach the 100th event next winter during Season XII.
“When we reach 100, we will, of course, celebrate,” says Visma Ski Classics CEO David Nilsson.

Season III 2012-2013 – 6 events
Season IV 2013-2014 – 5 events
Season V 2014-2015 – 9 events
Season VI 2015-2016 – 10 events
Season VII 2016-2017 – 13 events
Season VIII 2017-2018 – 11 events
Season IX 2018-2019 – 11 events
Season X 2019-2020 – 9 events
Season XI 2020-2021 – 2 events ahead of Marcialonga January 31th

Sandra Hansson won the women’s race in the first Visma Ski Classics event. Seraina Boner, to the left, was second, and Susanne Nyström was third.
