Britta Johansson Norgren, the most successful long-distance skier of all time, is embarking on a new chapter, founding her very own ski academy with a dedicated focus on long-distance racing.

The Ski Classics Legend, who ended her illustrious career three years ago, is known for rewriting the record books. During her time on the Pro Tour, Britta Johansson Norgren claimed an unmatched 25 victories, earning the prestigious Legend status. Now, she is channeling her passion and expertise into developing future champions.

“A place where tomorrow’s long-distance skiers can grow, develop, and pursue a sustainable career—both during and after their racing years,” Johansson Norgren shared on social media.

Her academy will be based in Östersund, a natural hub for cross-country skiers, and will cater not only to athletes but also to the wider support network around them.

“My goal with this project is to offer more people the chance to commit to long-distance skiing in a long-term and sustainable way. I want to create a platform for anyone who wants to be part of this incredible sport—not just as a skier, but also as a coach, team leader, wax tech, or ski parent,” she wrote on Instagram.

“Together, we can encourage more people to stay involved in the sport and build a lifelong passion for skiing. It’s time to challenge old norms and think long-term, with sustainability at the core—for the athletes and for the sport.”
