As the new Ski Classics season approaches, Pro Team athlete Kati Roivas is gearing up for what promises to be another exciting winter. We caught up with Kati to discuss her summer training, experiences with second year on Team Eksjöhus, and her goals for the season.

Kati Roivas has been making the most of her summer training, primarily based in France. “We had a team camp in Sweden in June, and in August, I took a few trips to Norway and Sweden for roller ski competitions.” She appreciates the chance to stay closer to home, noting, “as there will be much more traveling in the fall, and during the season.” Roivas has also managed to maintain her health and training volume throughout the summer, combining a “good amount of roller skiing but also plenty of running in the mountains, which has been super nice.”

As Kati Roivas gears up for her second season with Team Eksjöhus, she reflects on how her training environment has evolved. “Being in such a strong team has brought a lot of positive things into my training both at home and when being with the team in training camps and races,” she says. “It’s been very beneficial to train with the girls during the camps focusing on the technique, and also getting to challenge each other in the intervals. This team has so many good skiers with different strengths, so I keep learning from them and that motivates me to get better.” Roivas also appreciates the team’s camaraderie: “I think we get along well as a whole team, and I really value that as we spend so much time together.”

As the new Ski Classics season draws near, Kati Roivas is setting her sights high. “My biggest goals are in the Grand Classics,” she shares. “I want to keep the consistency; I have as a skier and of course I hope to be closer to the absolute top.” With these ambitions, Roivas is determined to leverage her summer training and team support to continue to reach new highs in the upcoming season. If her jump is anything like last season we can expect big things from Kati this year. She is certainly one to watch!
