Jenny Larsson with solid result at Göteborgsvarvet
This year’s edition of Göteborgsvarvet in Sweden took place this weekend, and Ski Classics star Jenny Larsson delivered an impressive performance.
Nearly 55.000 runners had registered for this year’s Göteborgsvarvet. Several well-merited cross-country skiers were on the start list, and many of them performed strongly. The best result came from Jenny Larsson, who finished in 15th place in the women’s category.
Jenny Larsson crossed the finish line after 1 hour, 22 minutes, and 15 seconds. Norwegian Karoline Bjerkeli Grövdal dominated the race and had almost five minutes’ lead over second-place Samrawit Mengsteab.

Former skier high up in the results list
In the men’s race, the Swedish runner Suldan Hassan took the win after an exciting finish against Norwegian Sondre Nordstad Moen.
Viktor Brännmark, who quit skiing just over a year ago to focus on running, finished in 12th place with a time of 1:08:36. Marcus Johansson, who recently left the Lager 157 Ski Team, also had a strong showing and crossed the finish line in 24th place, with a time of 1:11:03.

Another skier who made it into the top 30 was Alexander Mathisen, who competes in skiing for Sellnäs IF. He finished in 29th place, with a time of 1:11:16.

In two weeks, the Stockholm Marathon will take place, and it remains to be seen if any skiers will be on the start line then.
