Iivo and Kerttu Niskanen Winners Of Stage 3 and Overall At Lapponia Ski Week

The Visma Ski Classics Challengers event Lapponia Ski Week – Stage 3 took place today with an 80km race in freestyle technique in Ounasjärvi, Finland.

The Visma Ski Classics Challengers event Lapponia Ski Week – Stage 3 took place today with an 80km race in freestyle technique in Ounasjärvi, Finland.

After a long day of action on Stage 3, the Visma Ski Classics Challengers event saw the siblings Iivo and Kerttu Niskanen, Lapland Hotels Olos, win the race with their usual outstanding performances.

In the men’s competition, stage 3, the winner was Iivo Niskanen, Lapland Hotels Olos, with a time of 3:34:23.8. Anssi Koirikivi, Rovaniemi, finished in second place, 52.9 seconds behind, followed by Juho Mikkonen, Lapland Hotels Olos, 6:48.5 back and completing the podium in the third position. 

In the women’s race, Kerttu Niskanen, Lapland Hotels Olos, with a time of 3:53:42.0, won ahead of Eevakaisa Loukusa, in second place, 16:12.8 back. Tellervo Ylimartimo, Oulu, 28:50.9 behind, finished in third place.

Lapponia Ski Week final classification after the 3 stages and 190km:

MEN (60km + 50km + 80km Freestyle)

  1. Iivo Niskanen, Lapland Hotels Olos, 8:51:43.2
  2. Juho Mikkonen, Lapland Hotels Olos, 8:59:57.7
  3. Tino Tiilikainen, Vuokatin Vuorohiihtäjät, 9:11:48.2

WOMEN (60km + 50km + 80km Freestyle)

  1. Kerttu Niskanen, Lapland Hotels Olos, 9:46:18.5
  2. Eevakaisa Loukusa, 10:14:13.5
  3. Tellervo Ylimartimo, Oulu, 11:02:51.7

As Lapponia Ski Week is a Visma Ski Classics Challengers event, Pro Team registered athletes could collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective gender.
