The Ski Classics Challengers event Lake Saimaa Roller Ski Marathon, a 60km long-distance roller ski race in classic technique, took place today in Finland. Check out the results.

After a day full of action, the Ski Classics Challengers Lake Saimaa Roller Ski Marathon saw Isac Holmström, Team Edux, and Katariina Lonka, Ikaalisten Urheilijat, win the race with solid performances.

Lake Saimaa Roller Ski Marathon – Men’s Race

In the men’s competition, Isac Holmström, Team Edux, won with a total time of 2:27:18.0. Veli-Matti Räsänen, Ski-Willy Marathon Team Austria, finished in second place, 0.1 seconds behind. Ville Ahonen, Imatran Urheilijat, was 8.3 seconds back and completed the podium in third place.

Lake Saimaa Roller Ski Marathon – Women’s Race

In the women’s race, Katariina Lonka, Ikaalisten Urheilijat, won with a total time of 2:26:02.9. Oona Kettunen, Pohti SkiTeam, finished in second place and 1:10.2 back. Anni Kainulainen, Vantaan Hiihtoseura, 2:56.8 behind, finished in third place.

  1. Katariina Lonka, Ikaalisten Urheilijat, 2:26:02.9
  2. Oona Kettunen, Pohti SkiTeam, +1:10.2

As Lake Saimaa Roller Ski Marathon is a Ski Classics Challengers event, Pro Team registered athletes could collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective genders.
