The Ski Classics Pro Tour ends Season XVII with the Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja in Bardufoss-Finnsnes, Norway, on Sunday, March 29, 2026.

The Ski Classics Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja is the 13th and final event of Season XVII, where the Pro Team athletes and their Pro Teams will be present to celebrate the end of the season on Sunday, March 29, 2026.

The 60-kilometer race begins in Bardufoss and ends in Finnsnes, taking athletes through breathtaking landscapes from the mountains to the fjords, crossing the municipalities of MĂ„lselv, SĂžrreisa, and Senja. Introduced in Season XIV, the event has quickly become a standout in the Pro Tour. In 2025, Summit 2 Senja, for the second time, was voted ‘Best Event of the Year’ in Ski Classics, earning the highest recognition from Pro Team athletes, staff, and organizers.

“Summit 2 Senja is not without reason, voted as the best event of the season twice in the Ski Classics Pro Tour. It is a very demanding event that has it all, from the long stretches of flat skiing with spectacular fjord views to the Iconic Climb of Magdaskaret, followed by the finish in the city center of Finnsnes, where many people are waiting to honor the skiers. Summit 2 Senja also bears the Grand Finale brand, meaning it is open for recreational skiers for those qualifying to register by finishing at least one Pro Tour event in the current season on winner time +50% in each gender or two Challengers events within the same time rule,” says Ski Classics Director Oskar SvĂ€rd.

The Region

Nestled between Narvik and Tromsþ, Bardufoss is home to a civilian and military airport, offering convenient access to the region. Located approximately 82 kilometers north of Narvik and 70 kilometers south of Tromsþ – the largest city in Northern Norway – Bardufoss and nearby Finnsnes may be small in size, but both offer unique character and charm, surrounded by awe-inspiring Arctic landscapes.

Finnsnes, a town of around 5.000 residents, lies on the mainland in the municipality of Senja. It’s best known for the Gisund Bridge, a striking structure that links the town to the island of Senja, a destination celebrated for its dramatic coastal scenery.

Finnsnes also serves as a key port along the sea route between TromsĂž and Harstad, with multiple daily boat connections. Perfectly situated in the far north, the town is an ideal base for experiencing natural wonders like the midnight sun and the northern lights.

Grand Finale Concept

Ski Classics introduced the Grand Finale concept to conclude Season XV, and now Summit 2 Senja concludes Season XVII with unparalleled greatness.

As of 2025, the 2026 edition of the Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja will include up to 250 participation spots for recreational skiers outside the Pro Team field.

To qualify, skiers must have completed, during Season XVII, at least one Pro Tour race within the winner’s time +50% for their gender or two Ski Classics Challengers events under the same time requirement.

Once qualification is confirmed, a Grand Finale coin will appear in the skier’s SC MyPages account, granting access to register for the event. This initiative allows recreational skiers to take part in the Grand Finale alongside the Pro Team athletes.
