On Saturday, several strong skiers claimed to be among the fastest in the grueling uphill race Musdal Opp at Tretten, Norway.

On Saturday, several strong skiers claimed to be among the fastest in the grueling uphill race Musdal Opp at Tretten, Norway.

The overall winner of Ski Classics Season XII, Andreas Nygaard, Team Ragde Charge, came fifth in the uphill race at Musdal Opp. At the same time, Ine Løvlien, Team Northug Crucible, finished third in the brutal race at Tretten on Saturday.

Battle for the men’s podium

In the men’s race, the uphill runners dominated the brutal race Musdal Opp on Saturday. Several of them also prove themselves well on the ski tracks. 

Oddvin Offigstad defended his victory from last year and won the 8.65-kilometer-long race with 706 meters of altitude gain with a margin of four seconds, while Kristoffer Petersen Skonnord won the sprint match for second place against Per-Christian Lysaker Torgersrud.

Furthermore, several long-distance and traditional cross-country skiers were in the top ten, including the overall winner of Ski Classics Season XII, Andreas Nygaard, Team Ragde Charge. 

Nygaard, who won the Vasaloppet, Birkebeinerrennet, and Jizerská50 last winter and the Yellow Champion bib three times, was the fifth place at Musdal Opp. He finished one minute and 16 seconds behind the winner Oddvin Offigstad. 

Behind Nygaard followed Magnus Vesterheim, Team Kaffebryggeriet, in eighth place.

Team Northug Crucible’s new long-distance skier on the women’s podium

Among the women, Ine Løvlien from Petter Northug’s new Ski Classics Pro Team, Team Northug Crucible, delivered the day’s third-best time. She was just over a minute behind the winner Ania Zielinkiewicz.
