Engadin La Diagonela: All You Need To Know

by Leandro Lutz • 21.01.2022
Picture-perfect winter conditions await for tomorrow’s Engadin La Diagonela. Here are the facts you need to know.

Saturday, January 22, it’s time for Engadin La Diagonela. The 55-kilometer Visma Ski Classics Pro Tour race is the sixth event of Season XII and takes place in Zuoz, Switzerland, with the highest course point at 1.842 meters above sea level.

The track runs from Pontresina via Celerina to St. Moritz Lake, then over the Staz Lake to Pontresina, the Engadin airfield, and down the valley to Zuoz. A final hill up to the finish awaits the Pro Tour skiers. The finish line is in the middle of Zuoz, on the historic market square.

According to the organizers, the event has three main attractions: stunning scenery, high altitude, above 1,800 meters above sea level, and a unique atmosphere. There are more than 220 kilometers of groomed tracks in the area, making the valley a perfect place to spend some time before or after the event.

Expect many battles on the high altitude course as the Pro Tour skiers fight for glory in the Visma Ski Classics Engadin La Diagonela.
