The Ski Classics Challengers event Energamo Lipnolopet is a 55km long-distance roller ski race in classic technique taking place this Saturday, October 3, in Frýdava, Czechia. The event will be streamed live on SC Play from 9:55 CEST.

On Saturday, October 3, Energamo Lipnolopet will take place in Czechia, and for another year as a Ski Classics Challengers event. 

The 55km event begins with flat terrain around Lake Lipno, located on the Czech-Austrian border, before transitioning into an undulating middle section with stunning views of the Alps.

The grand finale is a demanding 5km uphill to Svatý Tomáš (St. Thomas), where gradients reach up to 20% in some parts. Energamo Lipnolopet offers everything professional and recreational skiers could want in a long-distance roller ski race.

The Lake Lipno region is rich in natural beauty and offers a variety of outdoor activities, including wellness hotels, cycling trails, water sports, ski slopes, and tree-top paths. It is also easily accessible from several airports, including Prague (2 hours 30 minutes), Vienna (3 hours), Salzburg (2 hours 30 minutes), and Munich (3 hours 30 minutes).

More than just the 55km event

Alongside the main 55km event, Saturday’s program also includes shorter distances (22km, 9km, and an 11km uphill trail run race). On Friday, a city sprint will take place in Frymburk, with a 1km course.

Energamo Lipnolopet is also part of the ED Skiroll Classics series, organized by the Pro Team, eD system RSJ Team. The event serves as the grand finale of the series and is included in the Ski Classics Challengers calendar.

Roller skis (information from the Local Organizing Committee) 

Please note that the equipment rules below determine which athletes are Challengers qualified at the Energamo Lipnolopet 55km event. Athletes who do not follow them will not be counted as Challengers qualified.

Participants are asked to bring their own prepared roller skis, with one exception: the top 20 athletes will use roller skis provided by the organizers. These skis will be assigned by the organizers 30 minutes before the start.

Permitted wheels

Men U23, Women U23, Men, Women:

• Black wheels with a diameter of 7 to 8cm
• Speed no. 3

Men 50+, Women 50+, Men 60+, Men 70+:

• Speed no. 2 or slower
