This German team was established in the summer of 2018 with a clear mission: to create a vibrant platform for skiers from the Sauerland region to compete and grow together. With deep roots in the heart of western Germany, the Sauerland is known for its strong cross-country skiing tradition, proving that a passionate skiing community thrives well beyond the Alpine regions.

After joining Ski Classics as a Pro Team in 2022, Bruse Sauerland Ski Team has steadily built momentum and visibility on the international stage. Now entering their fourth season in the Pro Tour, the team is more motivated than ever to take another step forward.

“Our passion for cross-country skiing drives us to excel in long-distance racing,” says Pro Team Director Lennert Versen, adding:

“With a core group of experienced athletes and several promising new names, we have the perfect foundation to nurture talent and inspire growth. As we head into the upcoming winter season, we are committed to participating in all Ski Classics races, aiming for an even stronger performance in the Pro Team ranking.”

The Pro Team proudly brings together a diverse mix of skiers from four countries, with athletes balancing full-time jobs alongside their athletic ambitions. Their dedication and team spirit have established the Bruse Sauerland Ski Team as Germany’s leading long-distance skiing team.

For Ski Classics Pro Tour Season XVII, the squad has a strong international vibe, featuring three athletes from Germany, five from Sweden, one from Finland, and one from the Czech Republic – ten athletes in total, including five women.

The age gap between the oldest and youngest team members is almost 32 years: Madelene Nord (1996), Caroline Olsson (1993), Alexandra Nilsson (1992), Alexandra Hoffmann (2006), Jenny Ramstedt (1974), Lassi Juhanoja (1996), Henric Thunander (2005), Anton Schaper (2005), Rudolf Dohnal (2005), and Johannes Richter (2006).

Their continued progress is made possible thanks to the support of their main sponsor, Bruse, whose long-term partnership enables the team to grow and attract new talent year after year.

With their passion for skiing and strong international lineup, Bruse Sauerland Ski Team is ready to chase new milestones in their fourth Pro Tour season.
