Anikken Gjerde Alnæs wins historic Orsa Grönklitt 50k ITT
Orsa Grönklitt 50k ITT Women, the eighth Ski Classics Pro Tour event of Season XVII, took place this Saturday in Sweden. Check out the results from the historic individual-start race.
The first-ever 50-kilometer individual time trial in Ski Classics history saw Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon, take the victory after a strong performance that confirmed her excellent form.
ORSA GRÖNKLITT 50K ITT WOMEN
A fierce battle between the athletes marked the 50-kilometer race, which was skied as an individual time trial.
In the women’s competition, Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon, delivered a powerful performance to secure the victory.
At today’s Sprint checkpoint, 6.7km into the race at Böllingmyren, Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden, crossed first, followed by Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon, in second place and 5.0 seconds back, with Hedda Bångman, Team Burger King Northug, in third position and 14.1 seconds behind.
At the second control point at Kallbolsmyren, 16.8km into the race, Anikken Gjerde Alnæs took control, crossing first, followed by Emilie Fleten in second place and 15.9 seconds back, with Hedda Bångman in third position and 46.8 seconds behind.
At Toppstugan, 23.4km into the race, Anikken Gjerde Alnæs crossed first in 1:04:16.4, followed by Emilie Fleten in second place and 48.2 seconds back, with Hedda Bångman in third position and 1:44.0 seconds behind.
Toppstugan also served as the Climb segment of the day, with Anikken Gjerde Alnæs posting the fastest time of 7:10.9 to claim maximum Climb points, followed by Louise Lindström, Team Eksjöhus, 0.3 seconds back, and Hanna Lodin, Team Engcon, 5.1 seconds behind.
At Böllingmyren, 31.7km into the race, Anikken Gjerde Alnæs remained solid in the lead, 1:17.2 ahead of Emilie Fleten in second place and 2:00.2 ahead of Louise Lindström in third.
About 10 kilometers later, at the 41.8km split in Kallbolsmyren, Anikken Gjerde Alnæs still led the race, 2:00.2 ahead of Louise Lindström and 2:10.6 ahead of Emilie Fleten.
At the finish, Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon, secured the victory with a perfectly paced race, finishing in 2:15:14.5. Louise Lindström, Team Eksjöhus, took second place 2:09.4 behind, earning her first Ski Classics Pro Tour podium. Emilie Fleten, Team Ramudden, finished third on the podium, 3:00.9 back.
Hanna Lodin, Team Engcon, finished fourth, 4:43.9 behind, and Hedda Bångman, Team Burger King Northug, rounded out the top 5, 4:52.6 back.

After the Orsa Grönklitt 50k ITT Women, Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Engcon, leads the Champion Bib competition.

Silje Øyre Slind, Team Aker Dæhlie, carries the bib for the Climb Competition. The Pink Youth Bib belongs to Louise Lindström, Team Eksjöhus.

In addition to the race results, the Skier of the Day awards were presented after the Orsa Grönklitt 50k ITT Women. Noélie Maurin, Team BSV IBEX, was voted Skier of the Day by the fans through the Ski Classics App, recognizing her strong performance and impact on the race.
