Olympic champion, Vasaloppet winner, and Ski Classics Legend Anders Aukland (52) is ready with his first book. In it, he shares insights, training programs, and advice on how to train smarter.

After nearly four decades at the elite level, Anders Aukland has gathered his experiences and expertise between two hard covers. The book “Kondis – alle mine treningshemmeligheter” (“Endurance – all my training secrets”) is Aukland’s first and will be released in mid-August.

It is intended as a guide for those who want to train more efficiently, make solid progress, and reach their fitness goals. He shares specific training plans, practical tips, and insights.

The target audience includes cross-country skiers, runners, and other endurance athletes of all levels.

Concrete Tips

“I believe that with two to three very effective sessions a week, you can go far,” says Aukland, and continues:

“In this book, I give you tips on how to train more efficiently, how to choose the right sessions, and how to find inspiration.”

In the book, he covers a range of topics, such as short and long races, intervals and technique, nutrition for peak performance, and gear that truly makes a difference.

A Remarkable Career

Anders Aukland became an Olympic champion in the relay at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and a World Champion in 2003. He has also won prestigious long-distance races, such as Vasaloppet and Birkebeinerrennet, on multiple occasions. He was awarded the Egebergs Honorary Prize for his achievements in cross-country skiing, athletics, and dog sledding. This is his first book.

When Aukland retired after the 2023 Ski Classics season, his biggest fear was falling out of shape. That hasn’t happened.

At the same time, Aukland hinted that he wouldn’t stop training and that he would remain involved with Team Ragde Charge, the Pro Team he runs together with his brother Jørgen. He didn’t rule anything out entirely.

“I’ll probably be back,” he said at the time.

At the time of writing, Anders Aukland still holds an active license with the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS).
