Takes over the entire ski fleet from the Bø brothers
The World Cup winner takes over more than just the favorite tag from Johannes Thingnes Bø. It’s now confirmed that Sturla Holm Lægreid is also taking over the entire ski fleet from the legendary biathlon brothers.
Earlier this spring, ProXCskiing.com reported that Sturla Holm Lægreid was replacing his entire ski fleet. After many years with Madshus, the biathlon star has switched to Fischer. This means he is now taking over the entire ski fleet of Johannes Thingnes Bø and Tarjei Bø.

There is no doubt that the legendary biathlon brothers are leaving behind a vast collection of golden skis. The skis are also meticulously labeled by snow type, results, and speed tests.
Still, Lægreid admits it wasn’t an easy decision.
“It was really tough to move away from Madshus because it has been a great journey,” he told NRK.
Hoping for more speed
The 28-year-old from Bærum is known as one of the most accurate shooters in the world. Now he’s curious to see if the ski switch will make him faster on the tracks.
Lægreid explains that his feet played a key role in the decision to switch to Fischer.
“I have somewhat unusual feet, so it’s difficult to find boots that fit,” he says and adds:
“I think I’ll loosen up a bit more, relax, and take more risks. So, I’m curious to see if I’ll ski faster this winter, but I believe in it.”
Since making his World Cup debut in 2020, Sturla Holm Lægreid has won one Olympic gold medal, 14 World Championship medals (including seven golds), 79 World Cup podiums, five small crystal globes, and the overall World Cup title once (2025).

“I’ve been an annoying little brother”
Since Johannes Thingnes Bø retired in March this year, it’s expected that Sturla Holm Lægreid will be the one to take over as the dominant force in the World Cup. And Lægreid has spent recent time closely with his mentor.
He’s also picked up some tips on how to take his performance to the next level — tips he eagerly absorbed from the outgoing biathlon king.
“I’ve been on him like a leech, an annoying little brother. I’ve tried to pick up what he does. It’s not always easy to understand exactly what it is, but I’ve managed to copy a few things and will take those with me,” the World Cup winner told Langrenn.com.
PS – It’s unknown whether the skis labeled ‘Bødium’ are included in the collection passed on to Sturla Holm Lægreid.
