German biathlon team for the World Cup in Oberhof
The biathlon World Cup 2025/2026 continues this week in Oberhof, Germany. The German national team has been named for the upcoming competitions.
Oberhof hosts the fourth World Cup stop of the winter from January 8 to 11, 2026. The event begins on Thursday with the men’s 10km Sprint, followed by the women’s 7.5km Sprint on Friday, continues Saturday with the men’s Pursuit and women’s 4x6km Relay, and concludes on Sunday with the men’s 4×7.5km Relay and women’s Pursuit.
In a press release, the German Ski Association has named its biathlon team for the Biathlon World Cup in Germany. Germany will start in Oberhof with 12 athletes, six women and six men.
“The World Cup in Oberhof marks the first of two home World Cups. Conditions on site are excellent: thanks to the many cold days and nights, very good conditions have been created both in the stadium and on the track. Everything is set for top-class competitions. There is also great interest from spectators. Full stands are expected for the weekend, but already for the competitions on Thursday and Friday,” says Biathlon Sports Director Felix Bitterling.
