Since this spring, French biathlete Emilien Jacquelin has joined the Decathlon CMA-CGM cycling team to try his hand at cycling. The original plan was to spend the summer on the bike, then pick up his rifle again in the autumn to prepare for the biathlon season.

However, at the end of August, the French biathlete announced that he would extend his cycling career by skipping his biathlon season.

From September 2 to 6, the gold medalist from the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympic Games once again proved himself in cycling at the Tour of Great Britain. It was his very first stage race on the World Tour circuit, and he did very well.

For this week of racing, the team once again supported its Dutch leader, Daan Hoole. Spanning England and Scotland, these five stages of the 2026 Tour of Great Britain covered a total of 879km.

Despite a crash during Stage 4, Emilien Jacquelin managed to stay at the front of the peloton alongside the sport’s top riders to support his teammate Cees Bol, who won that stage. The next day, during the fifth and final stage, he also did a remarkable job at the front of the peloton to maintain a manageable gap with the breakaway riders.

Jacquelin finished the race week in 51st place overall, while her team leader, Daan Hoole, finished 4th.
