At 33 years old, he remains as motivated as ever and aims for new medals, but not with the same ski brand he has used throughout his career.

French star Quentin Fillon Maillet announced on Instagram that he is leaving Fischer ahead of the upcoming season.

“Nine Olympic medals. Thousands of kilometers on the tracks. Hundreds of shots and countless shared emotions. After all these years with Fischer, our paths are now parting. Some chapters end when they are complete, and this is one, in a wonderful and fulfilling way,” Fillon Maillet wrote on his social media channel.

The 33-year-old added: “These skis have carried me from the tracks in my hometown of Jura to the most demanding courses in the world. They have been by my side when it came down to just a few seconds or centimeters. Thank you for everything you have made possible for me.”

Still a top competitor

At 33, Quentin Fillon Maillet remains at the pinnacle of the world elite. He is a man for the big competitions. Last winter, he did not dominate the World Cup, but he secured three Olympic golds in Antholz. Now he is looking ahead with a long-term goal of competing in the next Olympics, which will be held in his home country of France in 2030.

“Is there any rule that says you are too old for sports when you are over 30? I don’t see it that way. I love training, my sport, and my life. I enjoy winning even more. So why shouldn’t I continue?” he stated, leaving no doubt about his motivation.

New ski brand

Later on the day, Quentin Fillon Maillet announced on Instagram his new ski brand, Rossignol.

“Rossignol since 1907. A French house, skiing as I know it, a standard, a legacy, a family.
Ready for what we’ll build together. #ForEveryTurn #Rossignol
