Petter Northug adds influencers to his team – signing a 26-year-old from Hyrox and Norseman with 180,000 followers.

Petter Northug has signed Iver Anton Kronstad, a 26-year-old fitness influencer with over 180,000 followers across various social media platforms. 

“When you get a call from Petter asking you to join the team of someone who has perhaps given me the most joy in sports as a child … you can’t say no to that,” Kronstad told VG.

The young athlete recalls Northug’s victory in the 50km race at the 2015 World Championships in Falun as one of the greatest sports moments he can remember.

Kronstad will now be one of six men on Team Burger King Northug for the upcoming season. 

“He is extreme”

Kronstad did lose this winter’s Birken duel against influencer Emil Gukild, who joined Northug’s team ahead of last season. However, the fitness influencer has some impressive achievements on his resume.  

Kronstad finished in the top five at the Norseman Xtreme in 2025, considered the world’s toughest triathlon, and has won the 24-hour race Bislett24. He is also one of the few to have beaten Therese Johaug’s record at the Ragde Indoor Challenge, which consists of 5000 meters on a treadmill, 5000 meters on a ski ergometer, and 2000 meters on a rowing machine. 

These performances impress Petter Northug. 

“He is extreme. I am impressed by the effort he puts into performing in what he does. He is versatile, participating in different sports – everything from Hyrox to Norseman,” says Northug.

That’s why he wanted the young athlete to join Team Burger King Northug and Ski Classics for the upcoming season.

“For me, it was very tempting to present a project where he can also try his hand at Marcialonga and Vasaloppet. He was excited about that; he likes challenges, and we have found our match,” says Northug, continuing. 

“I believe there is much to learn from Iver Anton, as he is skilled, has incredible capacity, and is dedicated,’ Northug told VG.

Ski Classics is not the top priority

However, for the young influencer, Ski Classics is not the main focus in the coming months. He is fully focused on Norseman, Hyrox, and running. But he does not believe the lack of specific long-distance training over the summer will be a problem. 

“All the training I do now will help me heading into winter, even if it’s not specific,” says Kronstad.
