Milano Cortina, in Italy, will host the next Winter Olympics. The Opening Ceremony will be held on February 6, 2026, and there will be 12 cross-country skiing competitions over 10 days, culminating in the women’s 50km mass start in classic technique on February 22, 2026.

According to a press release from the Brazilian Olympic Committee, the organization has announced the Olympic spots for the Brazilian Olympic squad. Two women and one man were named for the cross-country skiing team.

According to Jorge Bichara, sports consultant for the Brazilian Olympic Committee, partnership was the key to achieving this milestone. “The work done in 2025 with the ice and snow sports federations in preparation for the final qualifying stage for the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympic Games, which concluded yesterday, proved fruitful with the confirmation that Brazil secured the highest number of qualifying spots in its history for the event,” Bichara believes.
