Former German biathlon star Denise Herrmann-Wick, 36, has welcomed her second child with husband Thomas Wick.

Former German biathlon star Denise Herrmann-Wick, 36, has welcomed her second child with husband Thomas Wick.

Denise Herrmann-Wick ended her career almost two and a half years ago. She won championship medals in both cross-country skiing and biathlon. In the latter, she has both individual World Championship and Olympic gold.

Now, Denise Herrmann-Wick and her husband, Thomas Wick, have become parents for the second time. On social media, the couple shared their joy:

“Two little feet have entered our world – ready to make big footprints. On August 28, 2025, our little Arvid saw the light of the world – healthy, strong, full of life.”

Already has a daughter

The couple already has a daughter.

“He makes our eyes light up, our hearts beat faster. His big sister beams, cheers, loves – from the very first moment.”

Several biathlon colleagues congratulated Denise Herrmann-Wick and her husband in the comments section.

“🥰❤️,” wrote French biathlete Lou Jeanmonnot.

“Welcome to this world, baby Arvid 🥰🥰,” commented former national teammate Janina Hettich-Walz.

The German retired in 2023 after winning both the World Championship and Olympic gold individually in biathlon. She was previously a successful cross-country skier, including an Olympic bronze from Sochi 2014.

As a sprinter, she claimed six individual World Cup podiums.
