Madona, Latvia, was the host of the first stage of the 2025 World Cup and Junior Roller Ski World Championships. The event took place last week from Thursday, July 17, to Sunday, July 20, for senior and junior athletes.

The Madona Roller Ski World Cup and Junior World Championships program featured a series of races that captivated fans and challenged athletes. On Thursday, July 17, the competition started with the individual start race in classic technique, featuring a 10-kilometer event for men, women, junior men, and junior women.

The team sprint in the freestyle technique took place on Friday, July 18. The excitement continued Saturday, July 19, with the 200-meter freestyle super sprint for all athletes. 

Finally, on Sunday, July 20, the event culminated in a mass-start race in freestyle technique. Athletes battled it out over a 20-kilometer distance for men and women, while junior women and junior men faced a challenging 14-kilometer distance.

Next Up – Trollhättan Roller Ski World Cup

The second stop on the Roller Ski World Cup 2025 is scheduled for Trollhättan, from August 29 to 31, 2025. The second stage of the World Cup will feature three days of competitions in Sweden.

The event starts on Friday, August 29, with a 1.3km sprint in freestyle technique for all athletes, followed by a 48km mass start race in classic technique for senior athletes and 32km for junior roller skiers on Saturday, August 30, and ends with the 15km interval start in classic technique for both senior women and men and 7.5km for junior women and junior men athletes, on Sunday, August 31, 2025.
