With a renewed focus on youth development, the Czech-based eD system Team is once again opening the doors to its Sport Academy, aiming to attract and nurture the next generation of long-distance skiers. The program targets athletes between 18 and 24 years old who are ready to challenge themselves and aspire to compete in Ski Classics.

“Do you love skiing, thrive on challenge, and want to follow in the footsteps of legends like Smutná or Ƙezáč? Then we want to hear from you,” reads the eD system Team’s official call for applicants.

The initiative builds on the success of last year’s project and represents a key part of the team’s long-term strategy to invest in young talents. For the upcoming 2025/2026 season, the academy offers two promising athletes – a male and a female skier – the chance to compete in selected Ski Classics races. Other participants will join the team’s training environment, receiving expert guidance and a path for future development.

To be considered, athletes must complete an online application and attend a training camp from September 18–21 in Jablonec nad Nisou, Czech Republic, where they will train with the race team and participate in two key evaluation events: the Hamrskiroll control race and the Energamo Lipnolopet, a Ski Classics Challengers event, on October 4.

Selections will be based on multiple criteria, including:

  • Attitude during training and competition
  • Time gap from the category winner
  • Age and historical race results
  • Future goals and willingness to fully commit to skiing

The project is also actively seeking a dedicated partner to support its growing academy initiative.
