It is a star-studded field that will be at the start of the roller ski competitions during the Holmenkollen Ski Show this Saturday.

Almost all athletes on the Norwegian national cross-country teams are registered for the Holmenkollen Ski Show. The exceptions are Anne Kjersti Kalvå and Ane Appelkvist Stenseth from the women’s elite, as well as Lars Agnar Hjelmeset and Kristin Austgulen Fosnæs from the Norwegian recruit national team.

There is plenty of challengers for the national team skiers. The overall winner from the Roller Skiing World Cup 2022, Amund Korsæth, is ready to start together with several of the skiers on his team, Team Elon Oslofjord. Furthermore, reigning U23 World Champion Jonas Vika from the newly established private team Team Swix.

Several international skiers have also arrived: Sophia Laukli from the USA, Joe Davies from Great Britain, and Patricija Eiduka from Latvia from the Norwegian private team Team Aker Dæhlie are some of them, as well as the queen of the Blink Festival 2022, Linn Sömskar, from Sweden.

Here you can see the start list for cross-country roller skiing.

Missing the biggest star

Neither Johannes Høsflot Klæbo nor Kristine Stavås Skistad is registered for the roller ski race at Holmenkollen. Neither is Emil Iversen.

Klæbo, earlier in April, decided to drop out of the Norwegian National Team, and Skistad chose to continue her investment outside the Norwegian National Team. Emil Iversen was not selected for the Norwegian National Team and is now investing with his private team. Thus, none of them are obliged to participate in the Norwegian Ski Association’s prestigious event in Holmenkollen.

The entry deadline for the junior and senior competitions expired on Thursday evening at midnight.

How was the Holmenkollen Skishow 2022?

Last year, it was Kathrine Harsem who won the Holmenkollen Ski Show after dominating the race. She has now put her career on hold due to health problems and will not be able to defend the victory. But Hedda Østberg Amundsen, who came second, is in place again on Saturday.

In the men’s side, Simen Hegstad Krüger won last year, also by a good margin. Krüger is back to defend his victory on Saturday.
