The cross-country skiing World Cup heads to Davos in Switzerland this weekend. The Finnish Team is presented.

Davos, Switzerland, is the place of this year’s fourth stop for the cross-country skiing World Cup. The event begins on Saturday, December 17, with a sprint race in freestyle technique. And on Sunday, December 18, the World Cup weekend ends with a 20km individual start, also in freestyle technique. 

The Finnish Ski Association has named their cross-country ski team for the upcoming World Cup in Davos. Finland will start with 17 athletes. On the women’s side, Finland will begin with 6 skiers. Already on the men’s side, 11 athletes will start for the Scandinavian country.

New this season is the same race distances for women and men in all World Cup events, as the International Ski & Snowboard Federation (FIS) decided in May. Several other changes have also been introduced to the World Cup.

The World Cup continues next weekend in Davos, Switzerland. On the program, there is a sprint in freestyle technique on Saturday, a 20km individual race in freestyle technique on Sunday.
