The Swiss cross-country ski star Dario Cologna will get busy when the ski season starts, despite retiring from the World Cup. This is his new job.

The Swiss ski star Dario Cologna is now a cross-country ski expert commentator for the TV channel SRF Sport. 

The channel will broadcast all the Cross-Country Skiing World Cup stages this winter. The 36-year-old Swiss will work together with Adriano Iseppi and goes live for the first time during the World Cup stage in Davos on December 17 and 18. 

In addition to his job as an expert commentator, Cologna has also been recruited as a mentor for Team Aker Dæhlie. 

A Championship Athlete

 The Swiss skier is known for finding championship form with surgical precision. In three Olympic Winter Games, he won each time 15-kilometer race. 

The first time was in the 15km freestyle during the Olympics in Vancouver/Whistler in 2010. Then, in the 15km classic during the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, and lastly, in the 15km freestyle during the 2018 Olympics in PyeongChang. 

During the Olympics in Sochi in 2014, Cologna also won the 30km skiathlon. During the Olympics in Beijing last winter, there were no medals for Cologna. His best positions were seventh in the relay and 14th in the 50km (shortened to just under 30km). 

Cologna announced last autumn that he would retire after the 2022 Olympic season. 

Golden Career

 In addition to his four Olympic golds, Cologna has participated in seven World Championships, of which the one in Liberec in 2009 was his first. He has three World Championships medals, including one gold (skiathlon in 2013). 

Cologna made his debut in the World Cup in 2006. Since then, he has started in 285 World Cup individual races, won 26 of them, and has been on the World Cup podium 73 times. He has won the World Cup overall four times, most recently in 2015, and the Tour de Ski a total of four times, making him the male skier who has won the Tour de Ski the most times.
