Max Novak and Ida Dahl Winners At Vaajmarathon

The Ski Classics Challengers event Vaajmarathon, a 43km long-distance rollerski race in classic technique, took place today with a strong starting field.

The Ski Classics Challengers event Vaajmarathon, a 43km long-distance rollerski race in classic technique, took place today with a strong starting field.

Many Ski Classics Pro Team athletes matched their skills in a tough race from Rötviken, Sweden, crossing the border to Sørli, Norway. After a day full of action, the Ski Classics Challengers event saw Max Novak, Team Aker Dæhlie, and Ida Dahl, Team Engcon, win the race with solid performances.

In the men’s competition, the winner was Max Novak, Team Aker Dæhlie, with a total time of 1:37:15.5. Axel Jutterström, Team Eksjöhus, finished in second place, 52.3 seconds behind, followed by Alfred Buskqvist, Team Ramudden, 2:34.0 back and completing the podium in the third position. 

In the women’s race, Ida Dahl, Team Engcon, with a time of 1:45:40.9, won ahead of Hedda Bångman, Team Nordic Expérience Coste – Fromageries Marcel Petite, in second place and 39.4 seconds back. Tilde Bångman, Offerdals SK, 6:08.6 behind, finished in third place.

As Vaajmarathon is a Ski Classics Challengers event, Pro Team registered athletes could collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective gender.
