Tomorrow, the Swedish national cross-country team will be presented. Now Linn Svahn says that she will be outside the national team.

“It is a sad message, of course. We will miss her,” says national team manager Anders Byström in a press release.

Linn Svan’s last year has been about persistent rehabilitation. Now Svahn chooses to continue preparations for the World Championships outside the national cross-country team.

“This decision is based on the fact that I want to work tighter with my own team at home and set up a plan that is optimal both for my recovery from the injury and developed and motivating towards my future championship goals,” says Linn Svahn in the press release.

Anders Byström, head of the national cross-country ski team, on the decision:

“It’s sad news, obviously. Linn is a breath of fresh air that puts color both inside and outside the track. We will miss her,” he says and continues:

“We have full respect for her decision and look forward to bringing Linn back when the time is ripe. My hope is that she is on the starting line, if not sooner, then at least at the World Championships in Planica, which is the big highlight of the winter in February 2023,” concludes Anders Byström.
